If you’ve been keenly anticipating the much hyped Spotify iPhone and iPod Touch application gaining its release via Apple’s app store the good news is that your wait is over as the Spotify iPhone/iPod Touch app is now available to download for free via the store.
Offering pretty much all the functionality of the desktop based version, the Spotify iPhone/iPod Touch app offers access to super fast streaming of (currently) over four million tracks – though you’ll naturally need a Wi-Fi connection if you’re looking to gain access to Spotify via your iPod Touch – as well as offline listening functionality allowing up to 3,333 tracks to be stored for listing without network and/or Wi-Fi access being required 9meaning you’ll still be able to listen to stored tracks whilst commuting, etc via the applications cache).

And, thanks to the Spotify iPhone/iPod Touch app offers mimicking the deskptop version so closely – of course the app will sync with the aforementioned desktop iteration – in terms of features you’ll be happy to know that you’re able to browse tracks intuitively by artist, title, genre, title, label and year as well as pause, skip, rewind and shuffle tracks and, yes, you can also factor in cover art as well.
“We’ve worked hard to bring you the same great Spotify experience you’re already familiar with to your phone,” states the Spotify blog. “The mobile apps will allow you to take the entire Spotify catalogue and put it in your pocket. You can use our ‘offline mode’ to make playlists available at all times, even when no connection is available. Perfect for that ride on the tube or long flight across the Atlantic.”
The Spotify iPhone/iPod Touch app is available to download now.
