LG's BL40 Black Label Touchscreen Set to Ship Imminently

Whilst details of LG’s up and coming and much anticipated Black Label touchscreen phone, namely the LG BL40 (or, more specifically, the LG Chocolate BL40), have been in the wild for a while now its not until now that LG have acted to confirm that the BL40 touchscreen is set to ship imminently.

For those as yet unacquainted with the Quad Band LG BL40 the handset the device comes with a 4″ 21:9 aspect ratio multi-touch 345 x 800 resolution 16M color TFT captive touchscreen display complete with Light Sensor (ensuring readability across all lighting conditions) as well as a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash capable of additionally capturing VGA resolution video footage at 30fps as well as integrated media player taking in MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA audio and MPEG4, H.263 video file backed up by an integrated FM tuner.

The fourth Black Label phone to be offered by LG, the Chocolate BL40, which comes with 1.1GB of built-in capacity (which is expandable thanks to a microSD/SDHC card slot) and which runs the S-Class UI, additionally comes with Stereo Bluetooth (v1.2/A2DP), wireless (Wi-Fi 802.11b/802.11g), USB and TV-out connectivity whilst also boasting an accelerometer, A-GPS functionality (allowing the device to serve as a PND as well as for the Geo tagging of image captures) and both speakerphone and headphone functionality complete with Dolby Mobile sound enhancement.

It’s not difficult to understand, in light of the above, why the LG BL40 is already causing a considerable stir and the great news for those looking to avail themselves of this particularly desirable touchscreen handset is that your wait is almost over as LG have confirmed that the BL40 is set to begin shipping in the UK from mid-September with further international rollouts commencing from October (with Verizon being touted as the first to gain the handset in the US).

At the time of writing, however, LG are yet to offer any indication as to unit pricing.
