OWC 750GB On-the-Go Portable Drives Introduced

The hunger for more storage space is something that affects most of the tech-savvy people out there, and OWC has come out with a new portable hard drive that caters to this demand. They’re part of the company’s new Bus-powered On-The-Go Pro models, these drives offer as much as 750GB of ultraportable storage solution.
According to the specsheets these drives will house 2.5-inch HDDs spinning at 5200rpm and featuring 8MB of cache.They come with a triple-interface through Firewire 800/400 and USB 2.0 connections while a version with dual-interface of Firewire 400/USB 2.0 and an USB only version will be available at reduced prices.
The devices are fan-less, run off Bus power or an optional AC adapter and come with the necessary cables, a carrying case and a disk utility software bundle including Carbon Copy Cloner, ProSoft Engineering Data Backup 3, NovaStor NovaBACKUP, and Intech SpeedTools Utilities. Suitable for both audio and video applications, these drives work with PCs and are also Mac OSX Snow Leopard compatible.
The OWC Mercury On-The-Go Pro 750GB triple interface model is priced at $270, the dual interface model goes for $250 and the USB only model will sell for $230, all directly from the company’s website. All the three products carry a three year warranty.
