Sprint HTC Hero Release Date and Price Confirmed

HTC Hero, the latest Android-based phone from HTC, has been officially announced for Sprint debut. Other than the same looks, the Sprint HTC Hero is the ‘chin-less’ version of the phone that now adds Exchange Active Sync, Sense UI and Sprint TV.
It’s the first wireless handset to offer the innovative Android platform and the high-speed connectivity of America’s most dependable 3G network (EVDO Rev A).
For those who don’t remember it, the HTC Hero was the third Android based phone released by HTC after HTC Dream and HTC Magic. It is the first phone in the series to feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, multitouch capability, HTC Sense interface and Adobe Flash. It has a 3.2 inch, 320×480 pixels touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, GPS, Digital compass, Accelerometer, and 3G and is a bit heavy at 135 grams.
Release date for the new Sprint HTC Hero is set for October 11 and with a price tag of $179.99 after rebates. And if you’re eager to get your hands on one and not able to hold back until they actually sell, pre-orders are now available from Sprint.
