Sony certainly seems to be having a field day at the IFA 2009 in Berlin. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 just got announced yesterday and coming right on its heels, today, the company have released details on a new phone named Sony Ericsson Aino.
Although it’s not the PSPhone that all Sony fanboys have dreamed of, the new Aino capable of accessing a PlayStation 3 remotely over 3G or Wi-Fi using the PS3’s Remote Play feature. This will allow you to stream both audio and video from the PS3 to your phone as long as both are connected to the Internet.
According to Sony Ericsson, setting up Remote Play is easily done from the Aino’s entertainment menu to make accessing PS3 content a cinch, with the XMB easily navigated via its keypad. Those gamers who are restless at work, will be able to access the Playstation Store from the handset and queue up games and trailers for when you get home.
Other non-gaming features of the new Sony Ericsson Aino include an 8.1 megapixel camera, 8GB microSD memory card, 3-inch touchscreen, which is the usual expensive-touchscreen-smartphone stuff. You can also access the PlayTV service to watch, pause and record live television.
Sony hasn’t announced yet how big a hole it will burn in your pocket, what we know is that Aino will be arriving in the UK this October, in ‘Obsidian Black’ and ‘Luminous White’, with the rest of Europe following soon.
