Following not quite hot on the heels of T-Mobile’s release of the much hyped HTC Touch Pro2 (the Pro2 has already hit T-Moble) Sprint have confirmed that it’s network will commence offering the HTC Touch Pro2 from September 8th.

For those unacquainted with the HTC Touch Pro2 the handset, which packs a 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7200A processor and which runs Windows mobile 6.1 Professional, sports a 3.6″ LCD TFT variable-angle tilting touchscreen touting 480 x 800 (WVGA) resolution – an increase from its predecessor – whilst offering a slider style full QWERTY keyboard, and, in terms of memory, 512MB ROM and 288MB RAM (which, naturally, can be supplemented with the use of a microSD card).

The Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE HTC Touch Pro2, which measures in at 116 x 59.2 x 16.65mm, also packs in just about everything you’d reasonably expect from a high end smartphone such as integrated GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate and A2DP and Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g) wireless connectivity, full featured multimedia support taking in WMV, ASF, MP4, 3GP, 3G2, M4V, AVI video and AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, QCP, MP3, WMA, WAV, MIDI, M4A audio formats and, yes, there’s the obligatory dual camera setup consisting of a main back mounted 3.2 megapixel camera and a secondary front mounted VGA camera facilitating video calling/conferencing.

Of course, on and above the aforementioned features, and what with this being a HTC smartphone, you can obviously count in the particularly slick TouchFLO 3D UI as well as G-Sensor and noise-cancelling dual microphones and speakers which comes with Straight Talk technology for improved sound quality.

In terms of battery endurance the HTC Touch Pro2 is good for up to 390 minutes (WCDMA) / 510 minutes (GSM) talktime whilst standby time comes in at up to 750 hours and 500 whilst in WCDMA and GSM modes respectively.

Set for release on Sprint for September 18th the highly desirable HTC Touch Pro2 is set to cost you a not insignificant $350 based on a two year contract (and that’s subsequent to a $100 mail in rebate). That said, we doubt that anyone parting with even this sort of money will be found questioning its true value.
