Android LG GW880 Smartphone Announced

China is the breeding ground for Android phones that most of the time have to do with China Mobile’s custom version of Google’s OS, the OPhone Platform. And speaking of the Middle Kingdom we just laid our eyes on the new LG GW880 which is the company’s first Android smartphone that runs the same Android derivative OS that doesn’t have Wi-Fi.
Although just a basic smartphone, the new LG GW880 is slated as a low-cost iPhone competitor thanks to its 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera and GPS abilities. It supports China’s 3G connection (TD-SCDMA)/EDGE and ss far as the memory is concerned, it comes with 512 MB ROM/256MB RAM. More to it, since there’s no Wi-Fi, the LG GW880 has got to compensate with Bluetooth connectivity.
We’re definitely expecting better from a company like LG with their future handsets, but if you’re interested in the new LG GW880 it should be available in China sometime soon.
