ASUS Eee Top ET2002T All-In-One PC

The all-in-one desktop PC is slowly making its way out of the enterprise and into the mainstream market. Designed first for the spatially challenged office worker, the need for a simple system for the home user has challenged manufacturers to come up with the right combination of features and price that would have households scrambling to snatch them up. The ASUS Eee Top ET2002T is the latest entrant into the all-in-one PC market and it seems to have hit the mark in both categories.
The ASUS Eee Top ET2002T all-in-one was first seen making its debut in the European market last week and it would seem that the time has come for it to hit the stage in the States. The unit was last seen on the ASUS US website which we can only take as a good sign that it won’t be long before we can get our hands on one. The Windows 7 based ET2002T is powered by Intel’s dual-core Atom 330 processor and sports a 20-in 16:9 aspect touchscreen display and DVD burner.
No slouch in the memory department, the ET2002T comes standard with 4GB of RAM, a choice of 250 or 320GB 5,400rpm hard-drives. As for connectivity, it has gigabit Ethernet together with wi-fi b/g/n support. Other features include a webcam, six USB 2.0 ports and a multi-format memory card reader. Overall, this slate of features has the new ASUS offering representing a pretty solid multimedia offering. ASUS have also squeezed in an HDMI input, which allows the ET2002T to be used as a standalone display.
While there has yet to be an announcement as to when the machine will actually start shipping, we can only surmise that its website outing means that it won’t be long now. Unfortunately, we don’t have pricing info as of yet, but the French model came in at 598EUR (about $845). According to ASUS Taiwan the ET2002 model is in the works that does away with the touchscreen option and the more powerful ET2203T, which rumor has it will pack various Core 2 Duo processors, AMD’s ATI Radeon HD 4570 GPU and a larger 22-in touchscreen.
