No stranger to the wireless keyboard market, Adesso has released yet another product offering mere months after it had announced both the WKB-4100 and AKB-420 desktop keyboards with integrated touchpads. Their latest offering, the WKB-4000UB SlimTouch is most certainly targeting the portable market and those of us that prefer our keyboards feature a more streamlined look. It builds on the technology found in their desktop models while offering a more compact design.

The WKB-4000UB SlimTouch wireless keyboard is perfect for tight spaces, including living rooms, kiosks/stations, conference rooms, mobile and workgroup project environments. It features 2.4GHz RF connectivity, an ultra-slim design with clean lines, and an integrated touchpad eliminating the need for a mouse. I guess that’s one more thing you wouldn’t have to worry about packing. A new feature found in the WKB-4000UB is the availability of a sleep mode and power switch, which allows users to switch their power off while away from their desk. This should save some battery life and extend the working time of the unit significantly.

The unit also sports a Quick Connect button that enables users to synchronize their PC with the click of a button. This unique keyboard certainly ups the ante when it comes to portable wireless keyboards. It’s small, compact in size and extremely mobile, easily fitting in a briefcase or backpack. The WKB-4000UB also has a USB mini-receiver with a 30-ft range that won’t stick out like a sore thumb when it’s plugged into your machine. I’m not really sure why you would want a 30-ft range on a wireless keyboard, though. Maybe you want to sit your laptop on a table across the room and use a pair of binoculars to work.
