With so many options available in the USB drive segment, it is creativity that will make a huge difference in the sales department. A very good example is Verbatim’s new InSight range of portable USB flash drives that is set to explore the advantages of a unique design. The InSight drives come with an always-on LCD that reflects both its name (no more labeling required) and the amount of free space available.
The most interesting thing of this notebook sized drive is the always-on LCD that will remain “always on” no matter if you have it connected to your computer or not. And no, if you were wondering it’s not e-paper.
On the inside, Verbatim InSight features typical notebook hard drives with 8MB of cache, that spin at 5,400rpmCompatible with both MACs and PCs (Windows XP we heard), there are two versions getting shipped today — the 320GB model for $120 and the 500GB version that will set you off $150.
The idea of seeing the storage on a device without actually powering it on, sounds really appealing at our end.
