After announcing the eco-friendly Samsung Reclaim on Sprint, the South Koreans are taking another shot to charm the green minded. This time they’ve officially introduced the new Samsung S7550 Blue Earth. Announced as a concept back in February, Samsung S7550 is a solar-powered touchscreen handset (with a photovoltaic panel on the back ) that is made from recycled PCM plastics sourced from old water bottles.
Although not the most advanced mobile we’ve laid our eyes on, the new Samsung S7550 Blue Earth comes bundled with the TouchWiz 3.0 interface and adds a built-in pedometer that shows not only steps but also how many trees you saved by walking rather than driving. More on the green side, Samsung S7550 keeps away from harmful substances like Beryllium, Phthalate or Brominated Flame Retardants.

A pretty interesting device that promotes environmentally-conscious living, there’s no word on pricing and no release date for the new Samsung S7750 Blue Earth.
