Minutes after briefing you about the new Samsung ST500 and ST550, we just learned that the South Koreans from Samsung have also introduced a very well-speced CL65 point-and-shoot camera that will “transform the way consumers take pictures”. And they might just be right, considering how many goodies are packed inside the new Samsung CL65.
We’re talking about a 12.2 megapixel sensor, Schneider-Kreuznach optics with 5x optical zoom, 720p (30fps) HD video, and a 3.5-inch touchscreen that comes with a Smart Gesture user interface. Along the same lines, Samsung CL65 also packs a built-in Bluetooth 2.0 module, GPS (for geotagging) and HDMI output so that you can display images on your HDTV.
Furthermore it squeezes Wi-Fi connectivity that allows to upload images and videos to your favorite social networking website lik Facebook, Youtube or Picasa — however, it’s too bad that the images will be reduced to a resolution of two megapixels.
The new Samsung CL65 point-and-shoot will be available to consumers in September 2009 and should cost some $400.
