
PENTAX Imaging Company has announced the latest models of two of its most popular, feature-rich, wallet-friendly compact digital cameras. The PENTAX Optio P80 digital camera features a lightweight design in three colors and the new entry-level PENTAX Optio E80 that features a large, easy-to-view 2.7-in LCD monitor, beginner-friendly controls and high-resolution widescreen HD video capture.
The new PENTAX Optio P80 is the latest model of the popular Optio P series of digital compact cameras. It features a slim, lightweight body with advanced features like 12.1 megapixel CCD, 4X wide angle optical zoom, 2.7-in LCD with 230,000 dot resolution, and high-resolution, widescreen, HD video capture up to 720p at 30 frames per second. The Optio P80 also sports Pentax’s Shake Reduction (SR) technology features: Pixel Track SR, Digital SR, and Movie SR to stabilize images and video for blur-free results.
The entry-level 10 megapixel PENTAX Optio E80 comes equipped with a host of user-friendly features and functions making this a great camera for first-time users. It has the same 2.7-in LCD screen and HD video capture specs as the P80 and it also features easy-to-press, large control buttons and the PENTAX original Auto Picture mode that automatically selects the most appropriate shooting mode for a given subject.

Available in black, pearl, and mint, the Optio P80 will be available in September 2009 for $199.95. Available in the ever-popular silver or black, the Optio E80 will also be available in September 2009 for $129.95.
