Although expected to sell globally since June, Nokia’s latest imaging flagship device the new Nokia N86 8MP NAM (North American model) which comes with 8 megapixel camera sporting Carl Zeiss optics, has just been announced to start selling in the US from August 22.

The device offers GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and HSDPA 900/1900/2100 network connectivity, comes with a 2.6-inch OLED display (240 x 320 resolution) with integrated ambient light sensor, boasts Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0, GPS with a-GPS functionality, 8GB of built-in memory and a microSD card slot to up that.

What’s extremely interesting — other than the optics in this amazing camera, Nokia N86 8MP NAM is expected to sell for $499 which is $59 lower than the pre-order price on Nokia’s official website. We’re expecting the N86 8MP NAM to be available in flagship stores earlier than the 22nd, while online retailers are expected to have it on shelves for something a bit below $470.

A tough call for us in here, as we’re still looking whether we should wait for the new E72 or get our hands on Nokia N86 8MP for its photo capabilities.
