Dell UltraSharp U2410 LCDs Announced

Dell is considering a whole new market for its latest 24-inch high-end LCDs, the Dell UltraSharp U2410. Just announced in Japan, the new UltraSharp U2410 screens are losing the already accuarate PVA (patterned vertical alignment) panel in favor to a much more precise IPS (in-plane switching) panel that allows for 100-percent sRGB color space coverage and 96-percent Adobe RGB space coverage — leading to improved color and accuracy.
Meant for a special niche of graphics, photo or video people, the new Dell UltraSharp U2410 also allows for color calibration data without having to use a hardware tool. More to it, the new display manages to impress with an 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a 6ms average pixel response time and a 400cd/m2 brightness.
With a four-port USB hub for expansion, VGA, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, RCA and component inputs for analog connections, the new Dell UltraSharp U2410 is filled with goodies that will make you forget the pricey $758 price tag. It’s already available in Japan but we’re not sure if or when this thing will leave the country.
