Nikon Intros COOLPIX S1000pj

It’s not often that the world of point-and-shoot digital cameras does something that makes us stand up and take notice. Their innovations usually fall into the realm of increased image resolution, making the devices smaller, or adding features that no one really wanted in the first place like automatic sepia tone control or integrated animal face detection. Well, Nikon has really done something innovative with their latest COOLPIX camera, the COOLPIX S1000pj. They have combined a great digital camera with an LED projector. Now who would have thought?
The Nikon COOLPIX S1000pj is a world first. It combines the great features found in the COOLPIX line of digital cameras with the ubercool feature of a built-in LED projector. Let’s look at the camera part first. It sports a 12.1MP resolution camera with 5x digital zoom and 2.7-in LCD screen. It has all of the features one would expect from a Nikon camera including image stabilization, scene autoselector, and ISO 6400 capability. You can also record movies at 640×480 resolution and 30fps. Now for the cool part, the projector.
The Nikon COOLPIX S1000pj has a built-in LED projector that is capable of projecting your images or movies onto any surface (white is recommended, of course) at up to 40-in wide. Now you don’t have to have all of your friends crowd around your little camera display when you want to share your pictures with them. The projector sports a 10 Lumens brightness and will run for about one hour on a battery charge. It also comes with a projector stand and a wireless remote.
The Nikon COOLPIX S1000pj is available from authorized Nikon retailers worldwide. It has an MSRP of $429.95 and a level of tech cool that simply can’t be measured. Head on over to www.nikon.com for more info and to locate your nearest Nikon dealer.

It’s a cool feature. I hope next time Canon will feature espresso machine in it’s EOS series. ;)
