Long rumored, the new Nikon D300S has just been introduced to much acclaim from photographers. A 12.3 megapixel DSLR camera, the D300S took us by surprise with its “smooth cinematic 24 fps” HD video recording at 720p quality along with high-fidelity audio thanks to the external mic input, the 51-point autofocus system, 7fps burst shooting, dual CF and SD card slots, contrast-detect autofocus (while in Tripod mode) and a three-inch 920,000-dot LCD screen to see everything at high resolutions.

Other than these, Nikon D300S features the same EXPEED image processing incorporated withing the D300, a built-in pop-up flash that covers 16mm wide-angle field of view, and comes with a Quiet release mode to make sure you next-door neighbor doesn’t find out you’re spying on her. Lightweight and ruggedly built with a magnesium alloy body, the D300S runs on an EN-EL3e Li-Ion rechargeable battery that allows up to 950 shots in normal conditions.

Nikon D300S should be in stores from August 28th and should cost you some $1,800 to bring it home.
