Billed as offering up enough additional charge to power a music player for up to 33 hours or allow digital cameras to take a further 200 captures (yes, its all rather vague), the Kodak Solar Charger KS100-C +2 will also happily offer up additional juice for the likes of cell phones and PMPs and, apart from being ENERGY STAR qualified, will fully charge in around 28 hours using sunlight alone or in just 14 hours should you opt to charge the device via a free USB connection should the sun prove illusive (which it certainly is right now in the UK).

“Consumers can rely on this charger for power anywhere the sun shines, even when they’re far from electrical service,” says John Blake, General Manager Digital Capture and Devices, Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company who introduced the Kodak Solar Charger KS100-C +2. “And on an everyday basis, they can charge the unit on a window sill or under a desk lamp, and it’ll be ready to go when they are.”

The Kodak Solar Charger KS100-C +2 is set to commence shipping in the US from September where it’ll retail for just shy of $40 though, at this juncture, we are unable to advise of further international rollouts (we’ll update you the moment this info becomes available to us, of course).
