It took Apple almost four months to confirm the rumors that there’s a 2TB Time Capsule in the works. Both a 802.11n Wi-Fi router with simultaneous dual-band support and a wireless hard drive that works seamlessly with Time Machine in Mac OS X Leopard, today, the Time Capsule have just doubled in capacity and became available for $499 — which is exactly what the 1TB version used to sell for and which now sells for $299.
Apple’s Time Capsule features an Ethernet WAN port, three Ethernet LAN ports, and one USB port to connect your external hard drive or a printer, supports up to 50 simultaneous users and works both on Macs and PCs — although on Windows you won’t have access to Time Machine, hence why it will only be used as a regular file and print server.
Perfect for virtually any darft-n wireless device — and that includes the iPod touch, iPhone and Apple TV, Apple’s new 2TB Time Capsule is perfect to back up a lifetime’s worth of memories and given the price tag, it may turn into a hot seller, soon!
