We caught wind that the new Creative Zii Egg, the company’s first touchscreen media player, has just been confirmed with a bunch of goodies including the new software development kit for the device called “Plaszma”, which is an open-source OS with C++ support and Android on top of Creative’s Zii chip (ZMS-05).
Rather impressive when it comes to what’s under the hood, the 3.5-inch touchscreen handheld (320×480 true-color display) is capable of outputting video in 1080p video, has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g (with full Opera web browser), GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, a 3-axis accelerometer, an SDHDC slot for up to 32GB, front and rear facing cameras. On top of that the Creative Zii Egg also comes with OpenGL ES support, X-Fi audio processing, a headphone socket, built-in speaker and a microphone.
With a 1200mAH rechargeable lithium-ion battery to get the show going and an $199 price tag to bring it home, we’re completely sold with the abundance of features in the new Creative Zii Egg. It’s simply amazing…
