BlackBerry Curve 8520 for T-Mobile US & Vodafone UK [Release Date Confirmed, Brings in Mac Compatibility]

RIM have just made it official that their BlackBerry Curve 8520 is going to be release in the US on T-Mobile and in the UK on Vodafone sooner than expected. Aimed at first-time smartphone buyers, the non-3G BlackBerry Curve 8520 loses the traditional trackball in a RIM handset in favor to a touch-sensitive trackpad, features a 2.64-inch TFT display with 320 x 240 resolution and a 2 megapixel camera with video recording mode.
The BlackBerry Curve 8520 also comes packed with a full hardware QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth v2.0 + EDR, a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, along with BlackBerry’s renowned push email, the most interesting feature that has just been revealed is that Curve 8520 is going to features “out of the box Mac compatibility” — which means that you’ll get to sync contacts, calendars and notes by using the BlackBerry Desktop Software and one of Apple’s computers.
BlackBerry Curve 8520 is going to be available starting from August 5th, on T-Mobile US at $129.99 with a two year contract and on Vodafone UK for free if you go for a 25 GBP monthly data plan. The pre-pay version should rope in close to 150 GBP (some $250).
