Announced back in May, Nec’s ultra-light, ultra-thin, and ultra-portable device, the new Nec VersaPro VS-7, blurs the lines between the typical netbook and a higher end ultra portable. Meant as the ultimate netbook, although the 15.8mm (0.6-inches) thick NEC VersaPro VS-7 only weighs 725 grams (yes, grams) it manages to hide a low power Intel Atom Z540 (1.84GHz) processor under the hood, comes with a 64GB solid state drive and a stylish body that resists up to 150kg force (330 pounds) — allowing you to sit on it whenever needed.
Although it costs twice than any other netbooks on the market (word is that it goes for some $1050 including tax), the mind-blowing spec-ed VersaPro VS-7 is more than capable to handle basic computing tasks including playback of 720p DiVX video (even in full screen mode) thanks to the integrated Intel GMA500 graphics chipset. It comes preloaded with Windows Vista, but runs smoothly on Windows 7 and Linux if you were asking …
Built for a more professional approach, NEC VersaPro VS-7 is all about power and we wouldn’t mind testing its limits.
