If you were going to buy a netbook just because of the price and not for its ultra-portable capabilities, then how about paying Walmart a visit, because they’ve just announced an incredibile deal at $289 for the Compaq Presario CQ60-419WM. Decently spec-ed, Compaq CQ60-419WM is part of Walmart’s early back to school sale. The notebook gets a 2.1GHz AMD Sempron processor, 3GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a dual DVD player and Windows Vista to play with.
The “killer deal” (which looks superior to a netbook — unless it’s the new NEC VersaPro VS-7) gets the Compaq Presario CQ60-419WM packed with a 15.6-inch display (1366 x 768 resolution), an NVIDIA GeForce 8200M graphics card, a standard six-cell battery and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Quite enough for basic computing and also capable of doing more “advanced” tasks, the new Compaq Presario CQ60-419WM at $298 is a steal — too bad we caught wind that offline stores will only have 10 units to sell.
