
Following last week’s announcement that Fujifilm is going to roll the world’s first 3D camera to the market, in a press release today the company have taken the wraps off their Fuji FinePix Real 3D W1 camera. The new FinePix Real 3D W1 features a a 3x optical zoom, a three-dimenesion LCD system for on-camera live viewing, two lenses protected from vibration and impact and a Dual Capture Shooting Mode that takes two shots simultaneously with different settings and combines them together in a stunning 3D image.
On top of that, Fuji FinePix Real 3D W1 does standard 2D photographs but is also capable of shooting mind-blowing 3D videos.
Along with the groundbreaking camera, Fuji also introduced the 8-inch Real 3D V1 picture viewer that allows you to enjoy 3D images on a high resolution screen without using special glasses.It sports a 3D/2D LCD panel with 480,000 dots (800 x 600 resolution), touchscreen capabilities, has SD/SDHC cards support, USB and infrared communication.
Both the Fuji FinePix Real 3D W1 camera and the Fuji Real 3D V1 picture viewer are expected in stores from September 2009 with a to be announced price.

This is an excellent achievement from FujiFilm and I hope the technology catches on. If the price is not totally insane i’m going to try to get my hands on one of these!
