Dell are now offering their latest Inspiron notebook range, the 17″ Dell Inspiron 17 Series, which come complete with HD widescreen display, optional 512MB ATI Radeon HD4330 graphics (available from September only) and an integrated number pad for pre-order.

Based on Intel’s GM45 chipset, the new Dell Inspiron 17 notebooks, which feature a 17.3″ 900p HD (1600 x 900) 16:9 display, come with a choice of Intel dual core processors ranging from the 2GHz T4200 through to the 2GHz Core 2 Duo P7350 as well as between 2GB and 4GB RAM, 160GB through to 320GB hard disks (no SSD options apparently), 8x CD/DVD burner and integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD graphics which, from September, as alluded to previously, can be updated to a 512MB ATI Radeon HD4330 graphic card which will push the graphics up to 1080p HD standard – which is (hi) definitely worth holding out for in our opinion.
Other features of note include built in wireless (802.11g or 802.11n depending on model) as well as (optional!) 1.3MP webcam and dual microphones for VoIP and video calling, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA port, 54mm Express Card slot and 7-in-1 media card reader. You can also add Bluetooth connectivity as yet another optional upgrade.

Ranging in price from $499 to $799 – though optional extras will add to the pricing, obviously – Early bird customers who pre-order their Dell Inspiron 17 notebook now can expect to see their machine ship from early August.
