Rock Announces New Xtreme 790/840 Gaming Laptops

Loaded Machines Sport Blu-ray, 1.5TB RAID and Dual GPU

Rock Xtreme 840 high-end gaming laptop

Rock, Europe’s leading performance notebook manufacturer, is rolling out two new lines of no-holds-barred high-performance gaming notebooks. The new Rock Xtreme 790 and Xtreme 840 notebook ranges are packed with high-end features and blazing fast technology that are sure to have your gaming glands drooling. And while you’re at it, you had better get your hands on some cooling fans because these laptops are hot.

Both the X780 and X840 ranges feature NVIDIA’s new 1GB GeForce GTX 280M GPU promising blistering frame rates that are up to 50% faster than the previous generation GPUs. But as we all know, one is never enough. The new Xtreme 840 SLI range sports two GPUs making this easily one of the fastest graphics machines on the market. I’m sure it won’t have any trouble with games and HD entertainment.

So what else do you get for your money? How about on-board Blu-Ray drives, up to a mighty 6GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM, HDMI connectivity, full HD displays and Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit) Edition (with free upgrade to Windows 7). Unless these machines come with their own electronics show booth babe I don’t think they could get any better. Oh yeah, the Xtreme 790 and 840 ranges also include four USB slots, 7-in1 card reader, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and 3-year on-site warranty

The Rock Xtreme 790 starts at 1,999GBP and the 840 range (which includes a pimped out SLI version) starts at 1,699GBP. Both models are expected to start shipping at the end of July, but you can preorder yours at www.rockdirect.com.
