blackberry storm 2

Although reported to be full of bugs and glitches when it comes to its operating system – things that annoy the user the most, the first RIM touchscreen mobile, BlackBerry Storm, has been a success nonetheless. But since BlackBerry is upgrading most of its models, the next-gen Storm is in the upgrade lab and should hit soon on Verizon in the US and Vodafone in Europe, as BlackBerry 9550 – while when released to AT&T and Rogers in Canada, it should go as BlackBerry 9520.

BlackBerry 9550 will come with CDMA 1xRTT/EVDO Rev. A support, will feature Quad-band GSM/EDGE, 2100MHz Single-band UMTS/HSDPA, WiFi 802.11b/g, a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, and a 480 x 360 resolution capacitive touchscreen with upgraded SurePress technology. Besides the improved screen tech, BlackBerry Storm 2 should run on OS 5.0 which is supposed to be much more reliable and less buggy than its predecessor.

Let’s hope RIM won’t rush the BlackBerry Storm 2 this time, like they did with the original model, and how about more internal memory and a better camera to start with? These would be pretty neat features to make up your mind, don’t you think?
