HP Mini 110 XP Netbook Surfaces in Pink and White

Adds a Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator

A bit kinky or maybe intended for the fashion conscious, the new HP Mini 110 XP netbook have just been spotted in the wild in both pink and white — which if you like, will cost $20 more. Other than a color upgrade, the Mini 110 XP has gotten a little HD boost thanks to a new Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced video accelerator and a high resolution 10.1-inch LCD-backlit screen (1024 x 576 and 1366 x 768 pixels).

The Broadcom card comes in as a $30 option and allows you to play MKV, MOV, MP4, AVI, WMV and TS/M2TS files without eating too much CPU and battery. But there’s a catch if we can call it that way. It won’t allow you to use your favorite media player for 1080p movies, yet you’ll have to use the ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre software it comes packed with in case you want to take advantage of the video acceleration.

Running on Intel’s Atom N270 or N280 processors, with 160GB of HDD or 32GB of SSD storage (if you can afford an extra $75), integrated GMA 950 graphics and 1GB of RAM, the new HP Mini 110 XP starts at $330 for the standards black version.
