Panasonic HDC-HS350 HD Camcorder Announced [AVCHD HDD HDC-HS350]

Panasonic have unveiled their latest HDC Series camcorder, the Panasonic HDC-HS350, which, apart from offering AVCHD support, offers Full HD (1080p) resolution capture and comes with onboard HDD offering 240GB of storage capacity – which, to put that into perspective, is enough to record up to 30 hours of HD video or up to 100 hours of standard def footage.

Capable of recording Full HD video as well as capturing 10.6 megapixel stills thanks to its 3MOS sensor, the Panasonic HDC-HS350 boasts all the features you’d expect from a high-end HD camcorder – such as facial recognition, numerous scene modes inc. low light mode – as well as pre-record capture which sees the HDC-HS350 capture 3 seconds of footage prior to the record button being depressed (meaning you won’t miss a thing if either your reflexes are a little slow or you mind’s not quite as on the ball as you’d like), interval and slow-mo recording and Follow Focus technology (whereby the HDC-HS350 will ‘lock-on’ to a moving subject in order to keep it perfectly in focus automatically).

On and above recording directly to its integrated hard disk, the Panasonic HDC-HS350 camcorder which, incidentally, boasts a particularly impressive start up time of just a mere 1.9 seconds, can also save stills and video captures to SDHC memory cards (allowing for up to 32GB of additional capacity) whilst, in terms of sound support, you’re looking at 5.1 channel audio.

There’s no official word from Panasonic at this juncture concerning either the HDC-HS350’s pricing or expected availability.
