Sony have unveiled two new Full HD camcorders in the form of the Sony DR-CX520V and the Sony HDR-CX500V which, apart from capturing video in 1080p D resolution, can capture 12 megapixel stills and which come with 64GB and 32GB of onboard flash based storage capacity respectively.

Employing Sony’s BIONZ imaging processor and back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensors delivering what Sony term as stunning low light performance, both the 64GB Sony DR-CX520V and the 32GB Sony HDR-CX500V – whose capacities can be bolstered using Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX memory cards – additionally sport 3″ widescreen touch panel LCDs, Dolby Digital 5.1 channel surround sound support and come with integrated GPS functionality allowing end users to geo-tag both videos and still imagery.

Both of sony’s new Full HD camcorders are set to drop in September with the 64GB Sony DR-CX520V retailing for around $1,300 whilst the 32GB Sony HDR-CX500V will come in at around the $1,100 price point.
