Sony Ericsson Rachael Android Smartphone

It looks like Google’s open-source Android OS is the hottest thing in the mobile industry these days, with more and more companies considering an Android-based handset. Same goes for the Swedes at Sony Ericsson who are rumored to be working on a “very” high-end touchscreen handset — an XPERIA number codenamed Rachael.

Meant for debut later this year, Sony Ericsson Rachael (not Rachel) is expected to run on a very high-end 1GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, would boast HSPA-speeds up to 7.2 Mbps, a built-in 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, a 3.5 jack and a mini-USB connector. Other than all these, Sony Ericsson’s Android smartphone comes complete with a rather large WVGA touchscreen (800 x 480 pixels), will use Android 2.0 and should offer “great” 3D graphics capabilities that will help take on Apple’s new iPhone 3G S.
