LG Expanding Plans Are BIG

Who would’ve expected that with the recession in full swing the crazy South Koreans from LG Electronics are going to pump their energy and their cash into new projects that will blow our mind. In a recent interview with the Yonhap News Agency, Ahn Seung-kwon says that LG aims to take on Samsung to become the number two cellphone maker in the world by 2012 (currently ranking 3rd).
But that’s not all. Apparently LG is going to come up with an ultra luxurious mobile phone that will compete in the high end market with Nokia’s overpriced Vertu and the like. They also plan to release a new LG Prada III that will pack features users have craved for, and a new “Black Label” mobile slated as an iPhone killer. Seung-kwon also mentioned that the company will stay focused on smartphones that will run Windows Mobile and the new open source Android OS.
Very daring plans don’t you think?
