Swimovate Pool-Mate Waterproof Watch for Swimmers

Automatic Lap & Stroke Counter Watch

Whilst we’ve featured many a sports watch aimed at those who workout at the gym, or those take to the great outdoors, we’re yet to feature a wrist watch specifically designed for swimmers looking to keep tabs on their performance – that is until now, thanks to this Swimovate Pool-Mate Waterproof Watch.

Agreed, in terms of aesthetics, the Swimovate Pool-Mate watch leaves a great deal to be desired what with looking overtly basic and somewhat retro (yet managing, somewhat skilfully it has to be said, to be wholly devoid of and retro chic appeal – which is quite a feat, all things considered). But under that dull, insipid, ‘my first digital watch’ exterior lies a powerhouse of electronic circuitry housed in a waterproof casing that will serve to count your laps courtesy of ‘accurate motion sensors’ (an accelerometer by any other name) and ‘unique software algorithms’. And, yes, it will even recognise all major strokes, including the front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and butterfly.

Capable of displaying lap count, the time (innovative, being that this is a watch an’ all), average strokes per lap, speed, distance, calories and efficiency the Swimovate Pool-Mate could be just what you need if you find counting and trying not to drown particularly taxing (and I know I do).

The Swimovate Pool-Mate waterproof watch for swimmers is set for release from July at which point it’ll set you back circa $114.
