Ecamm BT-1 Bluetooth Webcam for Mac OS X Released [Wireless Mac Webcam]

Initially revealed back in January, the Ecamm BT-1 Bluetooth Webcam, which has been designed specifically for use with Macs running OS X, and which comes complete with tripod mount, has now been released.

The Ecamm BT-1 webcam boasts Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR wireless connectivity offering up to 30 feet range – or up to 200 feet when used with the yet to be released Class 1 Range Extender add-on – whilst, in terms of resolution, you’re looking at 640 x 480 (VGA) with video (H.264 format) coming in at 15 frames per second. Agreed, it bring little to the table that the MacBook doesn’t already offer but at least you’ll be able to opt for more flattering camera angles whilst engaging in video conferencing with the likes of Skype.

Supplied with a mini tripod, battery life comes it at up to 4 hours usage based on a full charge of its internal powerpack, which charges courtesy of an integrated mini-USB port, whilst audio is covered thanks to 48kHz Stereo AAC transmitted thanks to embedded microphones.

The Ecamm BT-1 Bluetooth Webcam for Mac OS X comes bundled with the aforementioned mini tripod and USB charging cable and can be ordered as of now for $150.
