kohjinsha sk3 convertible touchscreen netbook

A few hours ago we offered you a heads up concerning the newly announced Daewoo SOLO C920-mini which is set to go heat to head with the Eee PC T91 convertible netbook and now with have another contender that’ll be looking to take a cut into the T91’s order book in the form of the Kohjinsha SK3 UMPC.

Whilst details at this stage are pretty sparse, what is known is that the 7″ 1.3Ghz Menlow based Kohjinsha SK3 convertible Netbook/Tablet PC, which is, in essence, a revised and updated version of the SC3, is being billed as offering Windows 7 support (we assume primarily referring to the device’s touchscreen functionality), integrated Wi-Fi with Draft n support (dispensing with the SC3’s cumbersome Wi-Fi module) as well as VGA, Ethernet ports and GPS functionality.

In terms of full features and specifications we await for an official announcement concerning exactly what the Kohjinsha SK3 – not least in terms of battery life and actual screen resolution – has to offer, but, based on the limited info we’ve seen, it certainly has all the hallmarks of being a more than viable alternative to the Eee PC T91 (though whether its quite up to the specs of the SOLO C920-mini currently remains to be seen).

We’ll offer you an update concerning the full low-down the moment the device gets official but there’s no doubt that we’re in for an interesting battle when it comes to convertible netbooks as numerous vendors set about cutting into the T91’s (doubtless to prove predominant) market share.
