T-Mobile G2 (myTouch 3G) Android smartphone

T-Mobile USA is continuing their race for more Android-based mobile phones with the new T-Mobile myTouch 3G (or T-Mobile G2). Rumored to be announced next week, the new handset will be produced just like the G1 by HTC, will use Google’s open-source operating system and should hit the shelves this summer.

With at least 18 Android phones expected to arrive on the market this year, T-Mobile sure manages to secure their spot with the second Android handset. From “reliable” sources the chaps at Wall Street Journal found out that the new T-Mobile myTouch 3G looks a lot like the new HTC Magic and has the same basic design with a rounded back and a glossy finish.

Although we’re excited that the new T-Mobile G2 is about to hit the market sometime soon, we definitely hope they got the battery drain solved, and we can dream about a normal audio jack and maybe a built-in flash on the camera? That’d make it really awesome, don’t you think?
