Iiyama ProLite E2208HDS-B HD Monitor

Iiyama have announced that their 21.5″ ProLite E2208HDS-B HD LCD monitor, which offers 1920 x 180 (Full HD) resolution and a response time of 5ms, is now shipping in Japan.
The Iiyama ProLite E2208HDS-B Full HD monitor, which is aimed specifically at those seeking a low price HD multimedia/gaming display, offers 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness and comes with D-Sub and DVI connectors though, curiously, based on the info we’ve seen, sans HDMI. Additionally the ProLite E2208HDS-B also sports integrated stereo speakers – rated at a disappointing 1W apiece – and 3.5mm audio jack.
On paper, at least, the ProLite E2208HDS-B isn’t especially exciting (especially if the apparent lack of HDMI connectivity transpires to indeed be the case) but, to be fair, its pricing – circa $205 – could see those looking for a budget priced HD monitor willing to overlook such omissions.
