Samsung YP-R1 First Details Emerge

Following on from Samsung officially unveiling their new YP-Q2 portable media player, first details have emerged concerning a new Samsung PMP – namely the Samsung YP-R1 – which appears to serve as a follow on to the aforementioned device in boasting the same UI but a larger screen.
Whilst details at this stage are fairly sparse, thanks to an apparent leak by UK online retailer Play, we at least know that the new Samsung YP-R1 sports a 2.7″ 400 x 240 (WQVGA) resolution touchscreen display, comes with 8GB of integrated storage capacity and offers compatibility with MP3, WMA, Ogg, FLAC, and AAC audio files as well as MPEG-4, WMV, H.264, Divx, Xvid,and RMVB video file formats. Additionally, the YP-R1 is listed as offering up Bluetooth connectivity and TV-out allowing you to watch films and movie clips on your TV.
There’s no word concerning pricing at this juncture, however, Play list the new Samsung YP-R1 PMP as being set for release from 30th July. The device can be pre-ordered as of now for just shy of 150GBP.
