It appears that the Samsung Omnia smartphone is to gain a successor by the name of the Samsung Omnia2 – or Samsung I8000 Omnia2 to be specific – according to a strictly unofficial leak by a Lithuanian online web portal.

According to the site’s listing, the Qualcomm powered Samsung I8000 Omnia2 features a 3.7″ AMOLED WVGA resolution touchscreen TFT display, an 8.1 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, integrated GPS, microSD card slot whilst, in terms of connectivity, it certainly ticks all the right boxes with 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth all in evidence.

The Samsung I8000 Omnia2, which runs windows Mobile OS, will, if rumours transpire to be correct, come with a heavily customised, TouchWiz UI and will additionally support DivX out of the box – but as Samsung are yet to officially announce the I8000 Omnia2 we are unable, at this stage, to confirm these details.

We await official word from Samsung and will, of course, bring you an update the moment we gain further info.

i have a bad experioence with these phones. I bought 12 of them for my employees and within a month 2 of the devices will just not power on.
I have my doubts about all the great stuff users have written about it.
Any help on this ? Has any one been through the same?
