Rob Smith's Mechanical USB Flash Drive

Handmade by UK Artist Rob Smith after 12 hours of hard work, the Mechanical Memory Key is a custom USB flash drive made from wood and featuring parts from no less than 6 different pocket watches. A stunning piece of craftsmanship boasts intricately assembled innards resembling the workings or an antique timepiece , Rob Smith’s Mechanical USB Flash Drive is, according to Smith, “made out of purple heart and has approximately 26 Ruby’s which look great when the key catches the light, and when the Keys plugged into a USB, it glows green from underneath the gears giving the key a good sense of movement.”
Nothing short of cool, the new Mechanical USB Flash Drive comes with 16MB of inbuilt storage capacity and is priced at around $165 and is limited to a single unit – meaning its a truly unique one off (and how many USB Flash Dives can boast that?)
