First developed by the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany and then put together on the market by Siemens, the new Radar Tacho RDS II is supposedly (they say) the most accurate running pedometer you can buy these days.

The device relies on radar to tell your current, maximum and average speeds, as well as your daily mileage, hence why the producers advise against using it close to mirrorered surfaces. But translated into English that means that if you’d like to do some cardio exercising in front of a mirror or if you’re jogging across the lake the Radar Tacho may not be that accurate.

But shouldn’t “accuracy” be the word that comes to mind when you’re considering a  $205 pedometer?
