Sanyo Gorilla NVA-GS1609FT and NVA-GS1409DT

Sanyo’s AV Gorilla lineup just got bigger with the new NVA-GS1609FT and NVA-GS1409DT multimedia GPS navigators. Virtually the same – except for their storage capacity (16GB SSD and 8GB SSD respectively), the two in-dash car navigation units come with an improved GUI and 3D maps, a 7-inch QVGA LCD display with touchscreen, integrated 1Seg TV tuner, DVD/CD drive and an FM tuner.

While both play MP3, MWA and AAC files from SD cards, the NVA-GS1609FT can also read from an USB drive and supports iPod connectivity.
Another interesting feature is the Eco Drive function that will instructs the driver on energy-saving driving techniques, significantly lowering CO2 emissions and cutting operating costs by improving fuel economy. Somehowe annoying for the adrenaline junkie, the slower you drive, the happier the navigator is.
Both units are expected to be released in mid-June for an undisclosed price.
