Queen Gets Gold Plated Nintendo Wii

Her Majesty the Queen (good morning Ma’am) is now the proud owner of a strictly one-off gold plated Nentendo Wii console thanks to THQ having the blinged out gold Wii delivered to Buckingham Palace by way of celebrating the launch of their Big Family Games software title.
Doubtless designed to generate a buzz rather than out of a genuine wish to provide Her Majesty with a little console action (call us sceptics – besides, we have it on good authority that Her Majesty the Queen prefers her gaming strictly in HD), the uniquely commissioned gold Wii was naturally bundled with one of the first copies of Big Family Games – which just goes to show that even the Queen doesn’t get lucky all the time (shame).

“BIG Family Games is the ultimate Wii game to get all family members, from grandparents to young children, playing together.” THQ’s Danielle Robinson said in a Thursday morning press release, “The Royal Family is arguably the most important family in the country so we felt that they had to have a copy of the new game.”
Personally, we’d have preferred a titanium or carbon fiber version, but perhaps that’s just us.
