QNAP have introduced their latest NAS (network attached storage device), namely the QNAP SS-439 Pro Turbo NAS, which is billed as a high performance server offering advanced RAID protection, built-in iSCSI target service and AES 256-bit volume-based encryption which is being specifically targeted at business use.
Sporting four 2.5″ SATA HDDs offering up to 2TB of combined capacity, the QNAP SS-439 Pro Turbo NAS comes with a 1.6GHz Atom CPU and 1GB DDRII under the hood and, as well as supporting RAID 0/1/5/6 configurations and AES 256-bit encryption and function both as a network attached storage device and a iSCSI server whilst boasting low heat and noise levels and superior energy efficiency coming in at a mere, and somewhat impressive 18W.
The QNAP SS-439 Pro Turbo NAS has just become available at around the $800 price point.
