As camera phones become increasingly viable as true replacements of point and shoot digital compact cameras, Sharp have announced a new 10 megapixel camera phone, namely the Sharp AQUOS SHOT 933SH, that’s set to hit the SoftBank Mobile network in Japan from the end of this month.

Apart from sporting a 10 megapixel CCD sensor complete with LED flash, face detection (up to 5 faces) and smile detection (which is capable of sensitivities up to 12800ISO), the 3G Sharp AQUOS SHOT 933SH Camera Phone comes with 3.3″ 854 x 480 resolution touchscreen offering automatic orientation thanks to an integrated accelerometer, built-in GPS, global roaming capabilities and an electronic dictionary (the Japanese appear to need just about every gadget to come with electronic dictionary functionality).
Measuring in at 11.6 x 51 x 16.7mm and weighing 127g, the Sharp AQUOS SHOT 933SH Camera Phone offers a purported talktime of up to 230 minutes, a standby time of up to 31 days and will come in a range of five colors.

How on earth could this be 310 days stand- by. That is almost a year. That must be impossible right now, especially with a 3.3″ touchscreen and a 10 megapixel camera. Pinch me if i am dreaming and send me an email if i am awake, if possible!

Yes, perfectly correct – a typo (that zero slipped in). Thanks for the heads up.
