Pure have introduced what they term as the first ever ‘Works with iPhone’ DAB Micro System in the form of the Pure Sirocco 150 which, apart from being specifically designed from the outset with the iPhone in mind – though naturally it’ll also happily accept both standard iPods and the iPod Touch – Comes complete with DAM and FM radio tuners, CD player and the ability to play music files directly from SD memory cards.

“We are delighted to be bringing out the first fully Apple certified ‘Works with iPhone’ DAB micro system; there has been huge interest and take up of iPhone and the market for micro hi-fi with DAB is growing,” said Pure marketing director Colin Crawford. “The Sirocco 150 provides the integrated iPod functionality and compatibility that consumers are increasingly looking for and all this at a highly competitive price.”

Offering 25W RMS output courtesy of stereo speakers comprising of 4″ mid-bass and 1.5″ tweeters, the Pure Sirocco 150 iPhone DAB Micro System additionally offers up USB connectivity allowing the Sirocco 150 to play audio files from USB sticks though file format compatibility is not a broad as one might have hoped in being limited to MP3 and WMA formats (regular readers won’t be surprised that we’ll deduct points for not supporting either AAC or OGG formats).

Other highlights include an integrated LCD display, allowing for the display of artist and track titles, a sleep timer which can wake you to either DAB or FM stations or a buzzer and EcoPlus credentials which sees the Pure Sirocco 150 drawing extremely low levels of energy whilst in standby whilst offering reduced packaging with an emphasis on using recycled materials.

The Pure Sirocco 150 iPhone DAB Micro System is set to become available in the UK from June at around the 150GBP price point.
