Whilst portable media players that set themselves up against the mighty iPod (in this case, against the new iPod Nano) are hardly in short supply, the Tech Digital Sonix7 Media Pro PMP is worth a brief mention as not only is it a reasonably specified media player but its made in the UK and not China (and anything we’re still managing to produce is genuinely worth celebrating right now).

Featuring a 3.2″ 320 x 240 resolution TFT touchscreen – which, as Tech Digital point out, is 77% larger than the Nano’s display (which isn’t a touchscreen either, obviously) – the Tech Digital Sonix7 Media Pro PMP, which measures in at 70 x 100 x 22mm comes complete with integrated accelerometer, digital camera functionality and built-in speaker whilst, in terms of file format support, it’ll happily play ball with MP1, MP2, MP3, WAV, ACC, MIDI and WMA audio formats and MP4, MPEG-4, AVI, XVID, H263 video file formats.

Offering an impressive endurance of up to 30 hours of audio or up to 20 hours of video (whilst positively thrashes the iPod Nano), the Tech Digital Sonix7 Media Pro PMP comes with 8GB or 16GB of onboard storage capacity which will set you back around 90GBP and 105GBP respectively.
