Pentax Optio E75 Digital Compact Camera

If you’re looking for a new compact camera and you happen to be on a budget, Pentax hope that you’ll be looking their way with the up and coming release of their Pentax Optio E75 digital compact camera, though it has to be said that its budget pricing means that you’ll have to expect to skimp on a few features you’d otherwise take for granted.

Sporting a 10.2 megapixel CCD sensor, the Pentax Optio E75 compact camera may look rather appealing, from an aesthetic standpoint, but we cannot quite fathom why it is that Pentax have decided – in their infinite wisdom – to offer up a camera with absolutely no image stabilisation whatsoever. Obviously it’s a bid to keep the pricing down – but we’d argue that some kind of stabilisation is wholly necessary on a point and shoot.
Still, count your blessings, because at least the Pentax Optio E75 still offers Face Detection complete with smile Detection along with its fairly mundane (these days) 3x optical zoom and 2.7″ LCD display.
If you’re looking for a low cost compact digital camera that offers the convenience of being powered by AA batteries and you can live without image stabilisation then you’ll be able to get your hands on the Pentax Optio E75 from July when it’ll retail at around 120EUR (roughly $160).
