Could the MSI Wind series of netbooks – a range of netbooks which we have had a particular soft spot from the word go – be getting a new, bigger brother in the form of the 12″ MSI Wind U200? According to a leak just surfacing regarding the Wind U200 it would certainly appear to be the case.
According to the Chinese iteration of Engadget, who appear to have got the scoop on the new 12″ MSI Wind U200 netbook somewhat before MSI has in anyway gone official, the new Wind, which will purportedly run Windows Vista Home, is indeed a reality and will come with an Intel Penryn ULV SFF 723 processor under the hood as well as a 1,366 x 768 resolution 12″ display, integrated Intel GMA4500M graphics, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD and that all important Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity.
According to the report, the yet to become official 12″ MSI Wind U200 netbook will ship with a price tag sitting around the $700 mark though, as stated above, MSI are yet to either confirm or deny any of the above.
We’ll keep our ears to the ground concerning MSI’s response and update you accordingly but if you’re looking for a netbook we’d seriously consider holding out in the meantime.
