sprint sanyo scp 2700 qwerty handset

Following on from a press release back in March concerning Sprint offering the Sanyo SCP-2700 QWERTY handset, we can now confirm that the Sanyo SCP-2700 – which is billed as addressing ‘a distinct need for a texting-focused QWERTY device at an entry-level price point’ – has now officially become available to Sprint customers.

Apart from sporting a full QWERTY keypad, the Sanyo SCP-2700 comes with a 2.2″ 65k color 320 x 240 LCD display, a web browser, a 1.3 megapixel camera (which allows users to upload their photos directly to social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Photobucket via Sprint’s Social Zone application), integrated Bluetooth and GPS with Sprint Navigation functionality. Interestingly, and no doubt in a bid to further appeal to heavy texters, the Sanyo SCP-2700 also comes with dedicated text and emoticon keys.

Available in two suitably bright colors, Deep Blue and Impulsive Pink, the Sprint Sanyo SCP-2700 is currently being offered for $30 per month based on a 2 year contract allowing for a $50 mail in rebate.
